Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By inviting, accessing, or using the Moon Bot ("the Service", "the Bot"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service. These terms apply to all servers, server owners, administrators, and general users interacting with the bot.

2. Description of Service

Moon provides a variety of tools for Discord servers, including but not limited to moderation, logging, entertainment, and utility functions. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

3. User Conduct & Restrictions

When using the Bot, you strictly agree NOT to:

  • Use the Bot for any illegal purposes or to violate Discord's official Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
  • Intentionally spam commands, attempt to crash the bot, or exploit bugs/vulnerabilities.
  • Use the bot to harass, threaten, or distribute malicious content.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or distribute the Bot's proprietary code or assets.

* Violation of these rules will result in an immediate and permanent blacklist from using the Bot.

4. Limitation of Liability

The Bot is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. The developers of Moon shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the bot. We are not responsible for administrative actions taken by the bot resulting from user configurations (e.g., accidental bans).

5. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these terms at any time. Any significant changes will be announced in our Support Server. Continued use of the Bot after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

Information We Collect

To provide its features, the Bot automatically collects and stores specific necessary data provided by the Discord API:

  • Server Data: Guild IDs, Channel IDs, and Role IDs required to save your specific server configurations (e.g., welcome channels, mute roles).
  • User Data: User IDs to track economy balances, levels, and command cooldowns.
  • Message Content: We DO NOT log, store, or track general chat messages or Direct Messages. Message content is only temporarily processed in memory when executing a command and is immediately discarded.

How We Use Your Information

The collected data is strictly used for the operational functionality of the bot. This includes executing commands, maintaining leaderboards, enforcing server moderation rules setup by admins, and identifying bugs or errors to improve service stability.

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. Data is only accessible to the bot's core development team for maintenance purposes. We do not use third-party tracking or advertising services within the bot.

Data Retention and Deletion

Data associated with a server is kept as long as the bot remains in the server. If the bot is kicked or removed, server-specific configuration data is typically purged from our active databases within 30 days. Users may also request immediate manual deletion of their data by joining our Support Server and opening a ticket.
